Emily
Emily is a highly experienced classroom tutor and student support manager who has worked extensively within a range of educational settings including FE, HE and adult education. She has many years of experience as a student support manager at the City Lit, where she led on a whole college approach toward inclusion. Emily is a Specialist Teacher Assessor with over 18 years’ experience of working with students with specific learning differences. This experience includes delivering one-to-one specialist support to students, assessing for exam access arrangements, and conducting diagnostic assessments for teenagers and adults in education as well as employees within the workplace. She worked as the Education Services Manager at Dyslexia Assessment and Consultancy (DAC)/Lexxic and has also worked as an advisor and delivered many professional level training courses. Emily is known for her collaborative working style and commitment to empowering individuals, teams, and organizations to discover the huge potential of neurodiversity.
Emily’s own personal experience of a close family member who is dyslexic with co-occurring specific learning differences enables her to empathise with students and clients. She fully understands the challenges faced and emotions experienced as a result of cognitive differences that are not generally appreciated nor facilitated by our education system. This drives her passion for empowering individuals to harness their dyslexic strengths and develop strategies that assist with education, work, and life in general.
